Ideas for Remodeling a Small Bathroom

A small bathroom shouldn’t make you feel claustrophobic.
There are quite a few approaches you can use to give the small bathroom a feel of openness.
If it's a second bathroom with a tub that is not used often ,you may consider replacing it with a stand up shower.
Showers come in many varieties of sizes and styles. Replacing a tub with a corner shower unit can add a lot of usable space in the small bathroom.
Light colored flooring will give the feel of the room being larger. White vinyl floor
covering will create the best feel of openness, but any light color like tan,
light gray or light blue will work very well for giving a small bathroom a more spacious feel.
Changing the vanity and vanity top can help create more space and give the small bathroom
a nice,fresh look.
During a remodeling project at my parents home, I ran across a great little vanity perfect for a powder bath that actually has the sink bowl overhanging the cabinet in the front. The cabinet is only 12 inches deep and offers more floor area than the typical 18 or 21 inch deep cabinet. As an added bonus you still have space under the sink to keep toiletries.
If storage is not an issue, a pedestal type sink will give the small bathroom an exciting new look and can greatly increase the floor area for a more spacious feel.
Light colors on the walls will help give the small bathroom an open feel as well.
Using mirrors will also help create a feel of spaciousness in a small bathroom.
Lighting is important in any bathroom and even more so in a small bathroom. Proper lighting and fixtures will brighten up the room and make it feel larger.
I hope you have found my ideas for remodeling a small bathroom useful and I wish you much success with your remodeling project.
